Transfer Stations


Hours of Operation

The Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc operates two waste transfer stations for its residents. Absolutely no household garbage is accepted at these locations. Please note that shingles and asphalt are accepted at the Strathroy Transfer Station only. The hours of operation for the two transfer station sites are as follows:

Mount Brydges Transfer Station

22416 Mill Road, Mount Brydges

April to November - 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month

December to March - 4th Saturday of the month.

OPEN: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Strathroy Transfer Station

27786 Pike Road, Strathroy (Lagoon Site)

March to November - Every Wednesday and Saturday;

December to February - 2nd Saturday of the month.

OPEN: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Tipping Fees


Tipping Fees will be charged for non-household waste such as brush, building materials (including drywall), concrete, furniture, carpets, mattresses, etc. Materials are not buried at this site, and must be transported to a commercially approved landfill site with applicable tipping fees. Receipts must be obtained from the tipping fee collector for all fees paid. Fees for disposal of material at transfer station sites in Strathroy-Caradoc are as follows:


CAR CHARGE - Minimum charge $20

PICK UP TRUCK - Minimum charge $45

LIGHT UTILITY TRAILER - Minimum charge $45

LARGER VEHICLES - Minimum charge $65

Miscellaneous Disposal Charges:

FREEZERS, REFRIGERATORS, A/C UNITS: A Tipping Fee of $15 per unit will be charged for freezers, refrigerators, dehumidifiers, and air conditioners for removal of freon to meet Ministry of the Environment regulations.

SHINGLES & ASPHALT: Accepted at the Strathroy location only. Please review the Tipping Fees (PDF [290 Kb]) for drop-off charges.

BRUSH: a tipping fee of about $10 will be charged for brush greater than 4' long and 3" in diameter.

Cardboard is not acceptable at transfer station sites, as it is recyclable. A surcharge of $5 will be added if cardboard is dumped with other materials.

No Charge Disposal Items:

There is no charge for the disposal of scrap metal, tires, leaves, grass clippings, garden waste, Christmas trees, and some electronics.

Electronic Waste (E-Waste)

Greentec e-waste recycling bins are available at each transfer station. Review acceptable e-waste, non-acceptable material, and items which may incur environmental disposal fees. (PDF [244 kB])
