The 24th consecutive International Emergency Response Day (IERD) will be held on Wednesday, May 7, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.at the West Middlesex Memorial Centre located at 334 Metcalfe Street E. in Strathroy.
This is a new location for the event, which has been held for many years at the Gemini Sportsplex.

A 100-acre parcel of land along Hwy. 402 owned by Strathroy-Caradoc and slated for future industrial development will become part of an Ontario Government program aimed at attracting new investment.

Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Chief Tom Gibson will retire as of August 15, 2014.

Strathroy-Caradoc’s Sleepy Hollow Railway has been selected by a television program aired by TV Ontario (TVO) that will assist in the relocation of the miniature railroad to the Fair Grounds Recreation Complex.

A 2014 budget calling for a 1.9 percent increase in tax revenue has been approved by Strathroy-Caradoc Council.
The budget includes over $30 million in total spending, of which about $13.9 million comes from local property taxes. The property tax portion of budget revenues will increase by $245,808, or 1.9 percent, from 2013.
