A new miniature railway station is now an integral part of the Sleepy Hollow Railway at the Fair Grounds Recreation Complex.
The miniature station, modelled after the former Great Western Railway station house in Strathroy, serves as a home for the engine and rail cars that operate on the miniature railway. The station also features a ticket window and loading platform to allow children and families to board the miniature train.

The Sleepy Hollow Railway was relocated to the Fair Grounds Recreation Complex with the helping hands of the Optimist Club of Caradoc. The miniature railway had been located at Alexandra Park.

Over 250 trees were planted on Monday, May 5 in Alexandra Park, thanks to the efforts of volunteers and the generosity of several tree donors.
Members of the Strathroy-Caradoc Lions Club, staff of Entegrus Powerlines Inc. and municipal staff from various departments helped to plant a mix of Maple, Hickory, Oak, American Beech and other tree varieties along the Sydenham River and in naturalized areas throughout the park.

Six projects to improve the storefronts of commercial buildings in Strathroy-Caradoc have been approved by council as part of the Municipality’s Community Improvement Plan.
Under the program, the municipality contributes a maximum of 50% of eligible costs for façade and structural improvements to buildings in defined community improvement areas located in Strathroy, Mount Brydges and Melbourne. Strathroy-Caradoc Council will allow Sunday hunting in the rural part of the municipality.
