The Caradoc Community Centre in Mount Brydges was spruced up in late June, as several municipal departments came together to improve the landscaped areas and grounds of the facility. An irrigation system was also installed around the building in order to maintain a perimeter of freshly laid sod and garden beds.

Mayor Joanne Vanderheyden welcomed the Ontario Good Roads Association (OGRA) to the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc for board meetings from June 19-21.
Mayor Vanderheyden, who also serves as president of OGRA, led a tour throughout the municipality that included Bonduelle, City Hall, and the newly renovated museum and library facility. A project that will result in the installation of rooftop solar panels on as many as 13 municipal buildings in Strathroy-Caradoc is going ahead.
Council on June 17 approved the lowest of nine bids submitted for the work. EfstonScience Inc. of Toronto will do the design, engineering, construction, and installation of the panels at a cost of $430,500 before HST. Its bid was nearly $60,000 lower than the next lowest bid.

Two new vehicles will be purchased for the Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Department.
Strathroy-Caradoc Council on June 3 approved buying a new combination pumper-rescue vehicle for the Strathroy station and a new tanker truck for the Melbourne station.
The pumper-rescue vehicle will replace a 1987 pumper and a 1992 heavy rescue vehicle already in service at the Strathroy station. It will take its place alongside a 2001 pumper-tanker and a 1988 aerial vehicle already in service.
