New garbage and recycling containers will be delivered to each household starting the week of November 19, 2012, as part of the new automated collection service offered by Bluewater Recycling Association.
These new “wheelie” bins will be compatible with the automated collection trucks operated by BRA. Residents may find out more about this cleaner, more efficient, and safer collection system by attending an open house offered by the municipality:

The Mount Brydges transfer station will be open additional Saturdays this fall to accept leaves and yard waste.
The transfer station (located at at 22416 Mill Road) will be open to residents of Strathroy-Caradoc between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on:
Saturday, October 20
Saturday, November 3
Saturday, November 17
Saturday, December 1
Only leaves and yard waste will be accepted at this transfer station on these dates. No brush will be accepted on these dates.

Strathroy-Caradoc Council has approved the building of a splashpad in Alexandra Park.
The project, being spearheaded by the Strathroy Rotary Club, is set to go ahead in October. A formal ground-breaking ceremony was held on Sunday, October 14. The splashpad will be located next to the creative playground and behind the Scout House in Alexandra Park.

The municipal Progress Through Partnership (PTP) committee has added another location to its inventory of custom heritage murals developed by local artist Francis Martin.
The municipality currently offers seven completed heritage mural locations located in Strathroy and Mount Brydges, with the most recent addition unveiled at the corner of Front and Head Streets in Strathroy as part of the Art Group Studio Tour event held this past weekend.
