Strathroy Caradoc Fire Department was called to a structure fire at Caradoc Sands Golf Course at 1:03 p.m on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. The first responding truck officer confirmed that stored in this structure were fertilizers and other chemicals used for the maintenance of the course along with propane, oxy acetylene tanks, and multiple mowers and tractors and fuels used at the golf course. With planting season underway, the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc urges residents to be cautious with farm equipment on local roadways.
Motorists should be patient when encountering slow-moving farm machinery. Many tractors have a maximum speed of 40 km/hr, but travel at less than 40 km/hr when towing equipment or wagons. Slow down, be cautious, stay well behind the farm vehicle, and do not pass until it is safe to do so.

UPDATE: The Municipal parking lot reconstruction and closure has been extended until Friday, May 26.
The parking lot located behind the Strathroy-Caradoc Municipal Office will be closed from Wednesday, May 10 until approximately May 19 for asphalt re-surfacing, line painting, and general improvements. Visitors to the Municipal Office may take advantage of free on-street parking on Frank Street (limit of 2 hours) during this time.
