Municipal residents can get involved in civic life by serving on a committee or board, or by attending an open committee meeting.
The Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc has established a number of advisory committees for the purpose of providing advice to Council on matters within the committee's mandate. In some cases, Council has established local boards to administrate matters under specific Provincial legislation.
- Committee of Adjustment (approximately 12 meetings per year)
- Police Services Board (approximately 12 meetings per year)
- Community Development Advisory Committee (approximately 10 meetings per year)
- Museum Strathroy-Caradoc Advisory Committee
- Tri-Township Arena Board (approximately 10 meetings per year)
- St. Clair Region Conservation Authority (approximately 4 meetings per year)
- Strathroy B.I.A. (approximately 12 meetings per year - must be business owner in BIA)
- Lower Thames Conservation Authority (approximately 4 meetings per year)
- Southwest Medical Board (approximately 6 meetings per year)
Qualifications for the Appointment
- Must be a ratepayer or resident of the Municipality
- Resident requirement may be waived for Museum Advisory Committee liaison positions
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Not an employee of the Municipality
