The Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Department is a volunteer-based service that provides a range of programs to protect the lives and properties of the inhabitants of the Municipality from the adverse effects of fires, sudden medical emergencies, or exposure to dangerous conditions created by man or nature.
The Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Department operates three fire stations located in Strathroy, Mount Brydges, and Melbourne. The Administration Office for the department is located in Strathroy.
The department consists of a full-time Fire Chief, an administrative assistant, and a volunteer Deputy Fire Chief responsible for the administration and management of the combined fire service of the municipality. A District Fire Chief, a Deputy District Fire Chief, Captains, and a complement of firefighters are responsible for the operation of each of the three fire stations.
Open Burns and Fireworks |
Open air burns are permitted in rural areas of the Municipality only. No permit is required, but prior authorization is required by the department's dispatch centre. Information can be obtained and permission granted by calling 519-245-1300 and speaking with Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Dispatch, as well as reading the Open Air Burn By-law via the link below.

Request a Fire Inspection |
Strathroy-Caradoc Emergency Services offers fire inspections on a request and a complaint basis. It is the municipality's responsibility to ensure fire safety inspections are conducted upon complaint, request, and as necessary to meet the mandatory requirements of the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, 1997 (FPPA) and associated regulations. Inspection requests can be submitted through our online submission portal below or by contacting the Fire Prevention Officer. |
