The governing body for the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc consists of a nine (9) member council.
The Mayor and the Deputy-Mayor, elected at large (both serving on Middlesex County Council) plus 7 Councillors; 4 are elected from Ward 1 (Strathroy) and 3 are elected from Ward 2 (Caradoc).
Council generally meets on scheduled Mondays of each month at 6:00 p.m. Meetings are open to the public, and some are televised on Rogers Television (Channel 13).
Please note: If you are submitting correspondence to Council (including Committees) your name will be included on the agenda, and published on the municipality's website if it is correspondence for an open session of Council. Your name will form part of the minutes for the meeting. Your address may also be included if necessary to identify the issue to be considered by Council.

In August 2017, Strathroy-Caradoc Council embarked on a special international knowledge-sharing project with a community in South Africa. The project is an initiative of Global Affairs Canada called "Building Inclusive and Green Municipalities" (BIGM), whose goal is to bolster ongoing efforts to stimulate local economies and modernize community infrastructure.
