Under the Police Services Act, the municipality is required to provide adequate and effective police services in accordance with its needs. The Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service is maintained through the governance of the council-appointed Police Services Board.
The service has an authorized sworn complement of 31 police officers and 13 civilian staff. The Uniform Division is comprised of 4 platoons each supervised by a Sergeant. These front line officers provide 24-hour service to the community. Officer assignments include; Traffic Enforcement and Projects (TEP); Community Services, Forensic Identification/Court, Criminal Investigations Division, Community Patrol, and Emergency Response. Civilian staff operate the Community Emergency Reporting Bureau (CERB), receiving and dispatching 911, and non-emergency calls for service.
