The mandate of the Progress Through Partnership initiative is to identify and implement community improvement projects that enhance the quality of life for the residents of Strathroy-Caradoc, with an emphasis on support for projects with a cultural focus. These efforts have included support for cultural events, physical improvements in the commercial districts, community signage enhancements, beautification efforts, heritage recognition and environmental stewardship projects.
The program was an original partnership of the Strathroy Business Improvement Area (BIA), Strathroy & District Chamber of Commerce, Strathroy District Arts Council, and Communities in Bloom Committee. The Progress Through Partnership (PTP) committee was established in 2005 through a presentation to Council by representatives of these stakeholder groups.
These groups recognized the need for collaboration, partnership development, and Council support of collective projects and initiatives to achieve community and cultural development. With the continued support of Council, PTP has expanded to include many other partner groups that serve to reflect a broad cross-section of the community.
