The SC Skilled Trades Hub is a collaboration of the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc, the Thames Valley District School Board, London Catholic District School Board, and Technical Training Group (TTG) to establish a skilled trades school within the footprint of Strathroy District Collegiate Institute and Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School in Strathroy. The skilled trades hub will serve the region as a means to provide training for welding and metal fabrication to ensure the skilled labour force serves the community and surrounding area.
This collaboration is supported by the Skilled Development Fund from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development.
There are three (3) streams of programming that will be provided at the Hub.
Apprenticeship Training - Apprentices and employers are required to follow all guidelines set out by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) Ministry. Only registered apprentices are eligible for apprenticeship in-class training and must have an official Offer of Classroom Training from the MLITSD to register with Technical Training Group (TTG) for schooling.
Custom Training/Programs - Custom training initiatives and additional training programs can be offered based on local demand and availability of additional funding streams. These initiatives and training will be provided through Technical Training Group.
