SUBJECT LANDS: 7505 Scotchmere Drive, Strathroy
Purpose and Effect
An application for consent has been submitted by the owner’s agent and will be heard by the Strathroy-Caradoc Committee of Adjustment. The purpose of the application is to sever a surplus farm dwelling from a larger farm parcel comprised of 35.7 ha (88.2 ac). The owners are proposing to retain the residential lot and convey the farmland to J.E. Henderson Farms Ltd. The proposed lands to be retained are approximately 0.5 ha (1.2 ac) in size, with approximately 70 m (230 ft) of frontage along Scotchmere Drive. The lands contain a single detached dwelling and a drive shed. The lands to be severed are proposed to be approximately 35.1 ha (86.7 ac) in size and are largely in agricultural production.
The subject lands are within the agricultural designation of the Strathroy-Caradoc Official Plan and within the General Agricultural (A1) Zone of the Zoning By-law. The subject property is located on the southwest corner of Scotchmere Drive and Sutherland Road. The land is legally described as Part of Lot 8, Concession 7 (Geographic Township of Caradoc), Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc. See attached Map.

There is a 20-day appeal period from the date of the notice of the decision, in which time the decision of the Committee may be appealed to the Ontario Land Tribunal. If a person or public body that files an appeal of a decision of the Strathroy-Caradoc Committee of Adjustment in respect of the proposed consent does not make a written submission to the Committee before it gives or refuses to give provisional consent, the Ontario Land Tribunal may dismiss the appeal. If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Committee of Adjustment, you must submit a written request by mail or email to Eva Baker, Acting Secretary-Treasurer (see above).
