Purpose and Effect
The Municipality is in receipt of an Application for zoning by-law amendment at 100 Second Street (see key map and location map). The lands are approximately 5,057 m2 (1.25 ac) in size and are designated ‘Commercial’ with the rear portion ‘Residential’ in the Official Plan and within the ‘Highway Commercial (C2-H) zone’ in the Zoning By-law. The purpose and effect of the zoning bylaw amendment application is to rezone the property from ‘Highway Commercial (C2-H) zone’ to site specific ‘Highway Commercial (C2-#) zone’ and ‘High Density Residential (R3) zone’. The developers are proposing a residential condominium with 2 storey townhouses (7 blocks and 35 units) as well as a commercial block with 2 commercial building with a floor area of approximately 240m2 per building. The proposal will be subject to site plan approval. The Draft Plan of Condominium application for the residential portion of the project has not yet been filed.
Council is anticipated to make a decision on this application on August 2, 2022. The meeting will be broadcast live at 6:00 p.m. on August 2, 2022 and can viewed by following the below link: www.strathroy-caradoc.ca/meetings.
