On Thursday, December 16, 2021, the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service received a call regarding a theft of an Amazon package from a residence on Seburn Drive in Mount Brydges.
SCPS officers responded to the area and located the vehicle and suspects involved. Through investigation, police were able to identify both occupants and recover the stolen property from this incident as well as another unreported theft in the area.
As a result of the investigation, a 26 year old male from North Middlesex was charged with:
• Public Mischief
• Possession Property Obtained by Crime
As well as a 20 year old female of no fixed address was also charged with:
• Possession Property Obtained by Crime
The male accused also had an outstanding warrant with another jurisdiction and was turned over to the OPP.
Both accused have been released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on January 20, 2022 to speak to the charges.
SCPS wants to send out a warning to the public regarding these type of thefts as they are increasing especially at this time of year. Some ways to help prevent package theft are as follows:
