The Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc is undertaking a Comprehensive Review to plan where and how new growth will take place up to the year 2046. Based on a study of the Municipality’s population and job growth, there is a need to identify additional serviced urban residential lands to accommodate the future population and job growth, as well as land for future community services and facilities.
This will be achieved through an expansion or adjustment of the Municipality’s Settlement Area Boundaries in Strathroy and Mount Brydges. A Settlement Area refers to an urban area where growth and development are concentrated.
On April 3, 2023, Strathroy-Caradoc Council endorsed a Study Area that has been subject to further technical analysis through the Comprehensive Review. The Study Area is larger than the amount of land required to accommodate future growth. Some lands within the Study Area will be considered to be included in the Settlement Area Boundary.
The purpose of this letter is to inform you that your property is located within the Study Area, as shown in orange on the map below (Figure 1), and to invite you to an upcoming public meeting.
Strathroy-Caradoc Council will be holding a Special Meeting of Council on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024, at 6 p.m. During this meeting, Council will review a draft plan which will outline where and how growth could be accommodated within the Municipality. The Municipality encourages the public to attend this meeting and to provide their comments and feedback on the draft plan. This meeting is in place of the cancelled Special Meetings of Council that were originally scheduled for January 29, 2024 and March 21, 2024.
If you would like to attend this meeting virtually, please email planning@strathroy-caradoc.ca to express your interest no later than 12:00 p.m. on May 20, 2024. The meeting will also be live streamed and available for viewing at www.strathroy-caradoc.ca/meetings.
