Council Adopts the Strathroy-Caradoc Strategic Plan 2024-2029
Following a strategic planning process, Strathroy-Caradoc Council has adopted an updated Strategic Plan. Beginning in 2023, the Municipality started updating its existing Strategic Plan to better reflect the needs of the Strathroy-Caradoc community. Through the strategic planning process, Council reviewed its existing Strategic Plan, gathered community feedback, and developed a list of projects and goals that the Municipality will strive to achieve in the coming years.
In addition to adopting the Strathroy-Caradoc Strategic Plan 2024-2029, Council directed the Chief Administrative Officer to bring forward a future report on the implantation plan, how the plan is to be measured and an annual update on the strategic initiatives. Council Receives Communications Item Regarding Upcoming Public Information Session
Council has received a communications item regarding an upcoming Public Information Session for the Municipality's Comprehensive Review of the Zoning By-law. This Public Information Session will be held in person on July 10, 2024, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Caradoc Community Centre (565 Lions Park Dr., Mt. Brydges). During this meeting, the Municipality will introduce the project, provide information about the Zoning By-law review process, and receive questions from the public about the project’s next steps.
Reviewing the Zoning By-law will allow the Municipality to update land use regulations so that they more effectively, efficiently, and fairly address the needs of our community. Learn more about the project at www.strathroy-caradoc.ca/zoning-bylaw.
Council Approves Community Improvement Plan (CIP) Application
The Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc's Community Improvement Plan (CIP) — an initiative which encourages community improvement and economic investment through financial incentives and improvement strategies — has received an application from Dan Kiekens and Jason Hastings to receive funding to renovate two existing non-compliant apartment suites to bring them up to Building Code. The apartment suites, located at 68 Front Street W, Strathroy, are on the 2nd level of an existing commercial unit and are currently not in habitable condition.
Upon their review of the application, Council approved the recommended funding for the project. The funding for the application totals $31,500.00 and will come from the Municipality's 2024 CIP budget.
The CIP provides financial incentives and improvement strategies to property owners throughout the Municipality for a variety of project categories ranging from beautification to agri-tourism. Learn more about the Municipality's CIP program.
Tender Awarded for Municipality's 2024 Tar and Chip Work
Following a tender process, Council has awarded a tender for 2024's tar and chip work to Cornell Construction Limited for a value of $604,795.00 plus HST.
