Council Approves Application for Temporary Noise Permit for the Strathroy Hometown Festival
With Strathroy Hometown Festival scheduled for June 16 to 18, 2023 at Alexandra Park, Strathroy Hometown Festival event organizers submitted an Application for Temporary Noise Permit to the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc. During the May 15, 2023 Council meeting, Council approved the noise permit, which will be in effect for June 16 from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., June 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., and June 18 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Council Receives Communications Regarding the AORS Annual Trade Show
Council received communications from the Association of Ontario Road Supervisors (AORS) regarding the upcoming AORS Trade Show, which takes place June 7 to 8 at the Gemini Sportsplex in Strathroy. The trade show, hosted by the Middlesex County Public Works Association, provides an opportunity for public and private sector public works professionals to share information and technical developments in the materials, services and equipment required to build and maintain municipal roads and other core infrastructure. The trade show will host over over 200 exhibitors and approximately 2,000 attendees.

Council Approves Recommendation to Donate Additional Building Lots to the "Building Foundations" Project
Council has approved a recommendation to begin the process to donate the balance of the building lots on the lands municipally known as 61 Brennan Drive to the SMGH Foundation's "Building Foundations" project.
The Building Foundations project is a partnership between the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation, Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School, and local builder JF Homes. The goal of the Building Foundations project is to build residential homes within the Municipality in support of purchasing necessary medical equipment for the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital.
Strathroy-Caradoc Council had previously donated a residential lot to the project, located at 61 Brennan Dr., Strathroy, which will be the location of the Building Foundation's first residential home. During the May 15, 2023 Strathroy-Caradoc Council meeting, Council approved a recommendation to donate the remainder of the building lots located at 61 Brennan Dr. to the project.
