The Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc was honoured to receive the Bell Technology Award from the Strathroy & District Chamber of Commerce at its Gala and Awards Celebration on Tuesday, September 18.
The award recognized the redevelopment of the municipal website to improve customer service and accessibility, and to enhance public awareness of municipal services, meetings, and activities.
The website redevelopment project had been driven by council to improve how the municipality communicates with and delivers services to the community. A survey group of community stakeholders and representatives of the various organizations that sit on the Progress Through Partnership committee were surveyed and consulted throughout the process. The website officially launched on May 11, 2012.
“In the 21st century, more and more of our communications is done electronically, and for a municipality wishing to interact with its residents, it’s no different,” says Councilor Dave Cameron, who acted as the Council representative on the website project steering committee. “We are confident our new website will help meet those needs. And we will be adding enhancements in the future that will make it even more effective in communicating with our residents, will help make a promotional tool for economic development purposes, and will keep our citizens informed about what is happening in their community.”
The municipality’s website redesign steering committee thanks eSolutions Group for their expertise and assistance in launching this resource for the community.
Councilor Dave Cameron, Community Development Manager Andrew Meyer, and Mayor Joanne Vanderheyden accepted the award on behalf of the municipality.
