The fundraising body for Museum Strathroy-Caradoc will have a means to show their appreciation for the generous donations received from the community, thanks to the installation of a new donor recognition feature in the museum foyer.
With the support of the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, the Museum Foundation has developed a new fundraising program to encourage support for museum programs and activities, including a new donor board designed to recognize donors based on their level of contribution.
The project was motivated by a desire to recognize a number of significant donations received in recent years through bequests and sponsorships in support of museum projects such as the conservation of the R. S. Williams glass plate negative collection. Names currently featured on the donor board include Helen Campbell and Mary Wright (pictured above), as well as the late Charlotte Rapley, Mary Kay Geddes and Nelson Johnson.
“We are pleased to recognize the contributions of those who have lent their support to our local museum,” says Jim Nolan, Museum Foundation President. “We felt this was a fitting tribute to their generosity.”
Donor categories include ‘Visionary’, for contributions of $5000 and over, ‘Advocate’ for contributions of $2500 and over, ‘Friend’ for contributions of $1000 and over, and ‘Affiliate’ for contributions under $1000 and over $500.
