The Municipality is undertaking a Section 26 Five-Year Update to its Official Plan. The second phase of this project to update the Municipality’s Official Plan to modernize land use planning policies, reflect various Master Plans and Studies that have been prepared as part of the Growing Together Strathroy-Caradoc, and address housekeeping updates.
Following completion of this second phase, an additional Official Plan Amendment will be brought forward to Council in Winter 2023 to implement any changes to the Municipality’s Settlement Boundary and ensure that the Municipality has sufficient land to accommodate new growth.
With your input, the Draft Redline Official Plan is ready.
The community now has the opportunity to provide feedback. Your input is critical as the Official Plan will help shape Strathroy-Caradoc for the next 25 years.

What’s Next?
Following the Statutory Public Meeting, the Project Team will review all written comments received by the June 13, 2022 deadline and revise the Official Plan Amendment. The updated Official Plan Amendment will be provided to Council with a recommendation to adopt in July 2022. A copy of the Official Plan Amendment and a comment-response matrix outlining changes following the Statutory Public Meeting will be provided.
The County of Middlesex is the approval authority for all Official Plan Amendments and after the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc considers the Official Plan Amendment, it will be sent to the County for final consideration.

If you wish to be notified of the decision of the County of Middlesex on the proposed Official Plan Amendment, you must make a written request to Durk Vanderwerff at dvanderwerff@middlesex.ca or at 399 Ridout Street North, London ON N6A 2P1
If a person or public body would otherwise have ability to appeal the decision of the County of Middlesex to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person does not make oral submissions at the public meeting or make written submissions to the County of Middlesex before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the County of Middlesex before the by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
