Notice of Public Open House - Queen St. Reconstruction Phase 2

THE PROJECT:

The Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc is proposing to undertake road, sewer and water improvements along Queen, Arthur, and Metcalfe Streets in Strathroy in 2024 & 2025. The scope of work is as follows:

• Queen Street from English Street to Metcalfe Street – improved roadworks, storm sewer & storm services, sanitary sewer & sanitary services and watermain & water services (2025)
• Installation of new storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and watermain underneath the CN Rail crossing on Queen Street (2025)
• Arthur Street from Front Street to Metcalfe Street – improved roadworks, storm sewer & storm services, sanitary sewer & sanitary services and watermain & water services (2024)
• Metcalfe Street from Arthur Street to Queen Street – improved roadworks, storm sewer, and storm services, sanitary sewer & sanitary services and watermain & water services as required to install the new storm sewer (2025)
• Installation of a new storm outlet at #157 Front Street through an easement (2024)

Along with other work incidental thereto.

PUBLIC OPEN HOUSE:

A Public Open House is planned to display the design drawings, and to answer questions from interested persons:

TIME: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

PLACE: Committee Room in the Municipal Office, 52 Frank Street, Strathroy, ON

This work has been tendered and Birnam Excavating Ltd. has been awarded the contract. Construction is tentatively scheduled to start in August of 2024.
