Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc
BRENNAN DRIVE ROAD EXTENSION
Community of Strathroy
Municipal Class Environmental Assessment
Notice of Study Completion
The Study: The Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc is planning to extend Brennan Drive in the community of Strathroy to service lands addressed municipally as 61 Brennan Drive and generally described as Lots 22 and 23, Plan 34M-19 (geographic Town of Strathroy). This project would involve the construction of a municipal road extension, with water and wastewater servicing, to service residential lots proposed within the project area and to provide opportunity for a street connection to future development lands west of the project area. The planned road corridor would extend from Brennan Drive approximately 55 metres to the western boundary of the project area (refer to the accompanying Project Location Map).
The planning for this project is following the environmental screening process set out for Schedule B activities under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Municipal Class EA) manual. This screening process has been completed and no potential negative impacts were identified with the proposed road extension that could not be adequately mitigated. Subject to any comments received as a result of this Notice and the receipt of necessary approvals, the Municipality intends to proceed with this project during the 2022 construction season.
Public Review and Project Contacts
A Project File Report has been prepared to document the screening process, including the associated consultation and associated studies. This Report is available for public review at the municipal office during normal hours of operation (52 Frank Street, Strathroy) and is posted on the Strathroy-Caradoc web site. Refer to 'News and Public Notices' (https://www.strathroy-caradoc.ca/Modules/News/en). In addition, a request may be made to the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks for an order requiring a higher level of study (i.e. requiring an individual/comprehensive EA approval before being able to proceed), or that conditions be imposed (e.g. require further studies), only on the grounds that the requested order may prevent, mitigate or remedy adverse impacts on constitutionally protected Aboriginal and treaty rights. Requests on other grounds will not be considered. Requests should include the requester contact information and full name.
Requests should specify what kind of order is being requested (request for conditions or a request for an individual/comprehensive environmental assessment), how an order may prevent, mitigate or remedy potential adverse impacts on Aboriginal and treaty rights, and any information in support of the statements in the request. This will ensure that the ministry is able to efficiently begin reviewing the request.
The request should be sent in writing or by email to both:
