Permit Night: Decks, Sheds & Pools
Join us April 23rd, 5:30–8:30 PM in the Town Hall Lounge (use side Customer Service entrance for ease of access) for a one-night opportunity to have your small permit applications reviewed and issued on the spot!
Our Building Department staff will be available to:
• Review applications and drawings for decks, sheds, and pools
• Answer your questions
• Issue your permit if all requirements are met
Documentation to Bring:
Bring your application, Schedule 1, drawings, and site plan for the fastest service. (available for download below)

Questions Before The Event?

To support your permit application, please ensure the following items are prepared in advance:
Deck
- Completed application form (can be completed on-site, but submitting in advance is preferred)
- Schedule 1 form
- Detailed construction drawings, including joist spans, beams, post spacing, connection details, footing size, and deck height above grade (refer to the deck guide for assistance)
- Site plan showing the proposed deck location, including setbacks from property lines and, where applicable, septic tank and bed locations with corresponding setbacks
Shed
- Completed application form
- Schedule 1 form
- Construction drawings outlining wall dimensions, window and door headers, footing details, wall anchoring, and roof design
- Site plan indicating the shed location and setbacks from property lines (see accessory structure guide for reference)
Pool
- Completed application form
- Site plan showing the pool location, setbacks from property lines, and the location and details of required fencing and gates (including height)
Preparing these materials ahead of time will help streamline the review and approval process.
