Spring/Summer Road Maintenance

Spring and Summer are a busy time for the roads crew throughout Strathroy-Caradoc. In addition to construction projects, our crews complete a number of road maintenance tasks, including repairing potholes, grading gravel roads and gravel shoulders, sweeping streets and sidewalks, and ensuring street signs are in good repair.

Municipal Spring/Summer Road Maintenance Includes:

Gravel road grading
Gravel application
Gravel road dust application
Roadside weed spraying
Street sweeping
Line painting
Tar and Chip Program - grading, patching, edge repairs, culvert repairs
Sidewalk Program - remove existing sidewalk, excavation, gravel delivery, lawn and driveway restoration
Rural roadside mowing / vegetation removal for sight lines
Rural road shouldering
Urban grass cutting
Tree and bush maintenance
Stump grinding
Sign repairs
Garbage/debris cleaning for roadside ditches

Roadside Weed Spraying Program

Roadside weed spraying is contracted through the County of Middlesex.

During May and June the County of Middlesex sprays selected roads in Strathroy-Caradoc. We will make every effort to notify the public of the weed spraying window as communicated to us by the County of Middlesex.

Residents NOT wishing to have the roadway sprayed in front of their property should sign the area with a "NO SPRAY" notification.
