Please note that the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc does not conduct civil marriage ceremonies. For an up-to-date listing of registered officials who may conduct marriage ceremonies, please refer to the provincial registry.

Obtain a Marriage Licence

Marriage Licences may be obtained by applying through the online ServiceOntario application, which can be found: Here

Please select “Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc” when prompted to “Enter a city, town, village, township, reserve, or postal code”

Marriage licences are eligible for marriage ceremonies taking place anywhere in the province of Ontario. Licences are issued no more than three months prior to the date of the ceremony.

Our current marriage licence fee is $135.00. Payment will be made at your signing appointment. 

Once your application has been submitted and approved, you will receive a notification e-mail regarding your approval. You will be prompted to book an appointment through Service Ontario’s portal to finalize the licence at the municipal office.

Required Marriage Licence Documents

In order to apply for a marriage licences, both applicants require two pieces of acceptable identity documents. *Please note that we prefer Birth Certificates as one of the pieces of ID. If you were divorced outside of Canada and wish to re-marry, please follow this link to see what documentation the Province of Ontario requires before a marriage licence can be issued by the municipal office. *Please note: When picking up the licence at the municipal office, we will require original identification for each applicant as submitted in the online application.
