✅ Middlesex County Updated Presented To Strathroy-Caradoc Council (Watch Online)
At a recent Strathroy-Caradoc Council meeting, Middlesex County CAO Paul Shipway provided an update on key initiatives and priorities at the County level.
Organizational Renewal and Focus
Middlesex County is undergoing an organizational restructuring under new leadership, with a renewed focus on core service areas to better support local municipalities. The County’s approach emphasizes collaboration, asking important questions such as: “How can we do this better?” and “How can we deliver more positive outcomes for our communities?”
Updated Strategic Plan
Earlier this year, Middlesex County completed an update to its Strategic Plan following engagement with both staff and the public. The enhanced plan identifies four key priorities:

These priorities build upon the foundation of the previous plan, with a continued commitment to supporting vibrant, resilient communities.
Economic Development Highlights
CAO Shipway commended Strathroy-Caradoc for its strong local economic development initiatives. The County continues to explore opportunities to diversify and strengthen its tax base through expanded commercial and industrial efforts.
New County Administration Building
Construction is underway on the new Middlesex County Governance and Administration Building—a purpose-built, 18,000-square-foot facility located beside the Middlesex-London Paramedic Service Headquarters in South London. The building is scheduled for occupancy in November 2026.
Looking Ahead: 225 Years of Middlesex County
The year 2025 marks a major milestone—Middlesex County’s 225th anniversary. Plans are underway to celebrate this significant moment in the County’s history.
✅ Strathroy and Mount Brydges Scouts Visit Council (Watch Online)
Members of the Strathroy and Mount Brydges Scouts attended a recent Council meeting to share a brief presentation and promote their upcoming Apple Day, taking place October 17–18, 2025.
As part of the tradition, Scouts presented apples to members of Council and offered the opportunity to make a donation in support of their local programs.
✅ Council Discussed Electric Kick Scooters (Watch Online)
At a recent Council meeting, staff presented a report outlining the definition of electric kick-scooters, the Ontario Electric Kick-Scooters Pilot Program, and the municipality’s responsibilities in relation to their use. The report also highlighted some of the challenges involved with enforcement.
Following the discussion, Council approved a motion directing staff to research any previous motions regarding electric kick-scooters in the municipality and provide a report back to Council.
