Local Hockey Pro Joins Youth Campers at the Gemini Sportsplex
Youth hockey players at the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc’s summer Hockey camp received an unforgettable surprise last week when local hockey hero Easton Cowan laced up his skates to join them on the ice at the Gemini Sportsplex.
Cowan, who grew up in the community and has quickly become a household name in the sport, took time to skate with the campers, run through drills, and even join in a friendly scrimmage. The highlight of the day came when campers had the chance to meet Cowan up close, snap photos, and share stories with a player they look up to both on and off the ice.
The visit was a special opportunity for the young players, giving them the chance to learn from and be inspired by a local role model. It made the camp experience even more memorable for everyone involved.
The Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc offers a wide variety of recreation camps and programs throughout the year, designed to keep residents active, engaged, and connected with their community. From hockey to arts and beyond, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
