Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc Wins EDCO Award of Excellence for Canvas & Culture Art Fest

February 5, 2026 - Strathroy, ON — The Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc is proud to announce that it has received an EDCO Award of Excellence for the 2025 Canvas & Culture Art Fest event held last September, in the category of Visitor Attraction & Tourism Product Development – Rural Award.

Presented annually by the Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO), the Awards of Excellence recognize innovative, collaborative, and distinctive economic development initiatives from across the province.

The Canvas & Culture Art Fest was delivered through a strong community partnership between the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc, the Downtown Strathroy Business Improvement Area (BIA), and The Wright Place. The event celebrated local creativity, activated the downtown core, and attracted residents and visitors alike, reinforcing Strathroy-Caradoc’s growing reputation as a vibrant destination for arts, culture, and tourism.

This event demonstrated the attraction value of arts and culture in a rural community, while supporting local businesses and creating an engaging experience for both residents and visitors.
