Adelaide Road & Bowan Street, Mount Brydges

New Pedestrian Crosswalk Installed

The Municipality has installed a new Pedestrian Crosswalk with Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacons at Adelaide Road and Bowan Street, Mount Brydges.

This improvement is designed to make crossing safer for pedestrians and to support traffic safety in our community.

The school crossing guard will still be at this location during the school year.

How it works:

• Pedestrians press the button to activate the flashing beacons before crossing.
• Drivers and cyclists must stop when the lights are flashing and the crossover is in use.
• Vehicles must remain stopped until the pedestrian has fully crossed the road.
• Pedestrians should ensure vehicles have stopped before stepping into the roadway.

Safety Reminders:

Pedestrians: Always push the button, make eye contact with drivers, and cross with caution.
Drivers: Stop when lights are flashing and yield the entire crossing to pedestrians.
Cyclists: When riding, follow the same rules as vehicles. When dismounted, you are considered a pedestrian.

This project is part of our ongoing commitment to improving road and pedestrian safety across the Municipality.
