Queen Street Infrastructure Improvements

The Municipality is pleased to share an update on the ongoing infrastructure work happening on Queen Street in Strathroy.

The micro tunneling required for the installation of the new watermain, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer beneath the CN Railway has been successfully completed. This marks a significant milestone in the project and allows construction teams to progress to the next phase of work.

Queen Street is expected to reopen during the week of December 15, 2025. Update [12-16-2025]: We expect this street to reopen on Friday, December 19th by 5:00pm. 

For the winter months, the section of Queen Street between High Street and English Street will remain as a gravel surface. This area will be regularly maintained by the Public Works team to ensure it remains safe and accessible for all traffic until final restoration can occur.

Final concrete and asphalt work is scheduled for spring 2026. Exact timing will depend on weather conditions and will be communicated once available.
