Public Meeting – 9221 Olde Drive
Council held a public meeting regarding proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments for 9221 Olde Drive, which would permit a private golf course and clubhouse with 12 accommodation units, along with an expansion of the existing hunting facility.
Council heard from the applicant and neighbouring residents regarding the proposal. Key topics raised included groundwater and well protection, environmental impacts and stormwater management, pesticide use, firearm activity and safety, property setbacks and fencing, noise, and the potential impacts on nearby agricultural, residential and equestrian operations.
The applicant acknowledged that additional technical work and approvals are required and indicated that matters such as water management, buffering, fencing, and site design would be addressed through the planning and site plan processes. Municipal staff also noted that several technical matters remain under review.
The application remains under review. Council received the report for information, and no decision was made at the public meeting.

Downtown Strathroy Mural Project
Council approved the Downtown Strathroy Business Improvement Area’s (BIA) application for $4,875 in funding through the Public Art & Interim Use Program to support the creation of a permanent mural on the west-facing wall of 70 Front Street W, Strathroy.
As part of the BIA’s Canvas & Culture programming, the mural will be created by local artist Megan Oldhues of OldHues Art and Design Inc. The artwork will feature a farm-family moment centred around a tire swing, reflecting the rural character and relaxed spirit of Strathroy-Caradoc.
The project will help enhance the downtown streetscape while promoting local art, culture and community identity.
