Melbourne Fire Department
21912 Melbourne Road, Melbourne Ontario

Residents of all ages are invited to join us for our Fire Prevention Open House on Sunday, October 4, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This family-friendly event is an opportunity to connect with your local fire department, meet our firefighters, explore fire apparatus and equipment, and learn practical fire safety and prevention tips to help protect your home and loved ones.

Meet Your Local Firefighters

Come meet members of the Melbourne Fire Department and learn more about the important work they do to serve and protect our community. You'll have the opportunity to explore the equipment firefighters use and ask questions about fire safety, prevention and emergency response.

Interested in Becoming a Firefighter?

The Fire Chief and Deputy Fire Chief will also be on site to answer questions about firefighter recruitment and what it takes to become a member of our department.

Like many rural and volunteer fire departments, we are always looking for dedicated, community-minded individuals who are interested in serving their neighbours and making a difference when it matters most.

If you've ever considered becoming a firefighter but weren't sure where to start, the Open House is an excellent opportunity to learn more. No prior firefighting experience is required.

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

• A positive attitude

• A commitment to teamwork

• A willingness to learn

• A desire to serve their community

Successful applicants receive comprehensive training, with firefighters trained to NFPA standards to ensure they have the knowledge and skills needed to serve safely and effectively.

Recruitment information, station response areas and application details can be found online by visiting https://www.strathroy-caradoc.ca/scfd.

Whether you're interested in joining the department or simply want to learn more about the role of your local firefighters, we encourage you to stop by and speak with our leadership team.

We look forward to welcoming residents of all ages to this informative and engaging community event.

Come learn about fire safety, meet your local firefighters, explore the equipment, and discover how you can help make our community safer.
