Health Unit Launches County Clinics in Strathroy, Dorchester, and Lucan
[Released on May 6,2026]
Following the closure of its Strathroy office in 2025, the Middlesex-London Health Unit has launched community-based clinics across Middlesex County to improve access to care.
Today, the local public health unit serving London and Middlesex County announced that two nurse-led clinics are being introduced in Dorchester, Lucan, and Strathroy: an Immunization Clinic and a Sexual Health Clinic. The Immunization Clinic operates by appointment and provides routine immunization for children 0-18 years. The Sexual Health Clinic is offered on a drop-in basis and includes testing for sexually transmitted infections, access to emergency contraception, birth control counselling, sexual health education, and free condoms.
“We’re very excited to launch these clinics in Middlesex County and are optimistic that we can fill all available appointments. With the right resources, in the right place, at the right time, we’re working to better meet the needs of Middlesex County residents,” says Dr. Alex Summers, Medical Officer of Health, at the Middlesex-London Health Unit. “These clinics are about improving access, reducing geography as a barrier, and helping more people connect with the care they need.”
Clinic dates are currently scheduled throughout the spring and summer months, with additional clinics planned for the fall and winter based on community uptake and demand. The Health Unit will continue to monitor attendance and community feedback to refine locations and scheduling.
